**Vanessa Rubria Fabiano** is the author of the story collection *Chinese on the Beach* (Ybernia 2025) and the novel *My Yolanda*. Born in Switzerland to Spanish-Italian immigrant parents, she grew up fluent in six languages and has lived across Europe, Asia, and the United States. Alongside her writing, she works in communications and branding in the tech sector, and co-founded *[The Write Salon](https://thewritesalon.com/)*, a boutique literary nonprofit.
