Short Reviews – July to September, 2026

by Andrew Leon Hudson

For some reason I miscalculated my plans to parcel out my short reviews in four month chunks and picked from five last time, so for this issue I was tightly focused on just three! Yet in the end I could have focused tightlier still, since my favourite three stories from around and about all landed in September.

Andrew is a technical writer by day, and is technically a writer by night as well. In addition to editing Mythaxis, his sf, fantasy, horror, and crime short fiction has appeared in a handful of quality zines and anthologies, with longer-form works lurking in the shadows. In 2026, he received the Federmeister Award from Foofaraw Press for “editor best to work with”, voted for by writers, so what greater honour could he ask for? He lives in Barcelona, Spain, and doesn’t do things online often enough to count.
